I found GUAPA as I was already heading home and had a handful of galgos in the back of the car. At first I thought it was a dead dog lying next to the road. As I drove past, she lifted her head and looked at the car. My heart stopped. I had no more space in the car and I didn´t know where to put her. I stopped the car and as I got close she walked away. Where she had laid were 3 frozen puppies. They were only 2 or 3 days old. Tears started to fall down my cheeks. I took the 3 pups and GUAPA started to follow me to the car. That’s how after a few minutes I managed to fit her in the front seat.
I called Estefanía, who works at the dog pound, and she convinced her mother to foster her until we had space in Galgo Freedom.
GUAPA had a microchip. We called the owner. He didn’t want her anymore. That’s how we found out that she was called GUAPA, which means beautiful.
GUAPA had a lot of milk and no puppies, so she had to be treated.
She’s very affectionate, good natured and gentle. She’s good with children, other dogs and cats
