LUCÍA and CURRO belonged to a wealthy man who liked dog racing in Córdoba. For some reason he was investigated and the judge decided to take the dogs away. This is not very common, so the man must have been in serious trouble.
The dog pound was called to pick the dogs up. This pound kills around 6000 dogs a year. Fortunately galgos, other pure breeds and small dogs are kept longer as they are usually adopted or rescue associations/shelters pick them up. But its risky as they can die from illness.
Luckily LUCÍA and CURRO are very healthy and fit. They get on well with all the dogs, they are sociable, loving, not traumatised and love to play and investigate the garden.
